Jozef Murgašwas a Roman Catholic priest and at the same time a painter, scientist, inventor, social figure and organizer of the cultural life of Slovaks abroad.
The exhibition project was created to commemorate the prominent Slovak native JOZEF MURGAŠ, the inventor of wireless signal and voice transmission.
With his patent “Tón systém” from 1904, he significantly contributed to the worldwide emergence of radio broadcasting through his wireless transmission of information and spoken word, which he carried out in 1905 in the USA.
Jozef Murgaš, with his purposeful and adventurous life story, became the most famous Slovak at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries in the whole world.
The beginning of the whole project was created by painting Samuel Morse in October 2023 and thus created an artistic journey of commemoration of the famous inventors in the field of electrical engineering, telegraphy and close friends of Rev. JOZEF MURGAŠ.
The exhibition project is in the phase where the public is informed about the project together with exhibitions throughout Slovakia until 2026, until then the exhibition project will be regularly supplemented with new fresco paintings and completed at the celebration of 100 years of the beginning of broadcasting of SLOVAK RADIOS.
